- (12 pts.) Circle all of the following that are true:
- An MP3 file is an example of a binary file.
TRUE, an MP3 file is a good example of a binary (non-text) file.
- A .java file is an example of a binary file.
FALSE. If you can open it and read it in a text editor (like vim), it's a text file.
- A .class file is an example of a binary file.
TRUE, it's a compile, binary file that you can't read in a text editor.
-
Using an ObjectOutputStream,
you can write an entire array of objects with a single call to writeObject.
TRUE. As long as the objects in the array are serializable, writeObject will write
the array and all the objects in the array.
- In order to write an object of a class Foo to an ObjectOutputStream,
the class Foo must be declared with implements Serializable.
TRUE. That's exactly what you do.
- When you read from a RandomAccessFile,
you don't know which bytes you're getting, because
they're read from random locations in the file.
FALSE. A RandomAccessFIle allows you to move around inside the file
before reading or writing. But, you know where you are when you read/write.
- (12 pts.) Circle all of the following that are true:

Update to Programming assignment 4:
I've provided you Simulation.java and TestSimulation.java. You can choose to use these files as-is,
use them as a starting point for your code, or write your own code from scratch. You'll still
need to turn in the Simulation.java file (even if it is unchanged).
