Class Introduction

Welcome to CSE 145! This class is unlike most other classes that you will take. You will learn, not simply by listening to lectures or doing homework, but by actually building real embedded systems.

While we will have regular lectures, the main focus is on a team design project. The course grade is entirely dependent on this project and will be evaluated in several ways throughout the quarter. This will (hopefully) be a project that you can brag about to potential employers, family, friends and random people on the street. Along the way, you will not only learn about hardware and software design, but also about working in teams, presenting your work and project management.

Enrollment is by instructor permission so that we can ensure that students are ready to take this class. We plan to limit enrollment to about 20 students. In order to be considered for this class, send in your application before Sept 17 (late applications, although possible, will be handled on a case-by-case basis). Follow the application link below for details on the procedure.
