Kai-En Lin

Apple

I am an AR/VR engineer at Apple VPG.

I received my PhD degree at the CSE department, UC San Diego. I was advised by Prof. Ravi Ramamoorthi and I was fortunate to be supported by a Qualcomm FMA fellowship. My doctoral research focuses on novel view synthesis, from dynamic scenes to sparse input for view synthesis.

I am fortunate to collaborate with Michael Broxton (Google), John Flynn (Google), Jason Lai (Google), Yi-Chang Shih (Google), Tsung-Yi Lin (Google, now NVIDIA), Lei Xiao (Meta Reality Labs), Feng Liu (Meta Reality Labs, now PSU), Yannick Hold-Geoffroy (Adobe), Qi Sun (Adobe, now NYU), Stephen DiVerdi (Adobe) and Kalyan Sunkavalli (Adobe).

Before PhD, I completed my undergraduate in EE department at National Taiwan University, where I worked with Prof. Homer H. Chen on augmented reality.
