Academic and Professional Bio
Hi, my name is Miles Jones. I am a lecturer in the computer science and engineering department at UCSD. I mainly teach theory courses involving discrete math, algorithms and computation. Before coming to the computer science department at UCSD, I was in Talca, Chile working as a research post-doc funded by FONDECYT and working on algebraic combinatorics with Luc Lapointe. Before moving to Chile, I completed my PhD in mathematics at UCSD in 2012 with the late, great Jeff Remmel as my thesis advisor. I received my bachelor's degrees in mathematics and physics from VCU in 2006.
