There will be five programming projects.
If you have easy access to a Windows machine, disregard this message. This message is for those who use only Mac OS X or Linux. The lab boards are programmable using the included software which only runs on Windows. Thus Mac/Linux users need to install Windows on a virtual machine and run it from there. You should have received an email regarding "DreamSpark" and “vmware”. If you haven’t please contact cse-help and mention CSE 30 in the headline (cc the instructor). Please follow the instructions below for installing the software for the labs.
Collect the hardware that you will use for the labs from the the course tutor- Riley Yeakle on Tuesday, Jan 7th in CSE building room 2127 between 12pm and 2pm. You have to provide a collateral of $100 to collect the boards. It will be given back to you at the end of the course once you return the board in working condition. Please give a check (payable to Prof. Ryan Kastner) for this amount to Riley when you collect the boards.
Labs should be completed on your own outside of class. The lab period at the end of the week should be to answer any lingering questions, and get checked off by the tutors, TA or instructor.
Turn in your completed code after getting checked off during the Friday lab hours. Zip your entire project directory, and attach it as a file in the form "LASTNAME_pa_X.zip" to each assignment created in TED. Labs are due every Friday.
