- 2/21: Important Note The class schedule for weeks 8, 9 and 10 have changed. Please check the schedule web page for details. Note that the 3rd homework set is now completely assigned. Also note that it is now due at 3/12 instead of 3/14.
- 2/14: There will be a discussion section on Friday 2/22 to preview
the upcoming midterm 2. It will be held in the regular place and time, see front page.
Also Akis will not have office hours on Friday Feb 22nd.
- 2/14: The second midterm on Feb 26th will cover the following topics:
- Know the difference between Moore and Mealy machines
- Given a FSM (Moore or Mealy) and a state assignment, be able to derive logic.
You need to know what don't cares are possible (i.e. incompletely
specified next-state or outputs, unused state codes)
- Given sequential circuit (Mealy or Moore) and initial state, be able to
derive FSM.
- State minimization of FSM (Moore or Mealy).
- Derive FSM (Moore or Mealy) to do pattern recognition.
- 2/14: The extra office hours for Monday 2/25 are going to be: Mrunal 3:00-4:30 and Akis 4:30-6:00 at the same room as usual.
- 2/12: The homeworks for chapters 8 and 9 have been announced today in the class schedule page. There is also a small change in the schedule, next Tuesday 2/19 Arithmetic circuits will be covered instead of FSMs.
- 2/7: Attn: Akis' office hours for today, thursday, had been cancelled.
- 2/6: Attn: There will be NO LECTURE on Thursday 2/7.
- 2/5: You can now find the solution for question 3 of the midterm
here.
- 2/5: Attn: Akis' office hours for both Tuesday and Thursday had been moved permanenlty from 2:30-4:00pm to 3:00-4:30pm.
