Description
During this lab you will add suport for acceptance testing
to your project. Then you will write acceptance tests.
Task 0
Add Concordion to your project.
Make sure to create a ticket in Trac. Split up and work in pairs,
the first that finishes commits and closes the ticket but the other
have to continue until they have completed the task.
-
From inside your project root directory create a uat
Source Folder.
-
Into uat, create the package directories and
copy AcceptanceTest.java into it.
-
Into uat, create a doc directory and
copy Acceptance.html into it.
-
Inside the lib directory, create a concordion.
directory.
-
Copy the following library files in the concordion directory:
-
Add the new libraries to your build path.
-
Right-click on uat and run it as a JUnit test.
-
Is not running. Why? Fix the problem.
-
Make sure your code passes the tests. You may need to modify the test cases,
but please confer with the teaching staff when doing so.
-
Update, make sure all tests still pass, and commit (remember provide detailed
comments!) if you're finishing first, otherwise have it checked by the staff.
Only the copy of Acceptance.html that is inside
the doc directory must be commited into the repository.
Task 1
Split up and assign the following tasks to programming pairs in your team.
Make sure to create tickets in Trac.
-
Modify the generic acceptance tests given for JOIN so they are specific to
your implementation
-
Come up with at least 3 representative usage scenarios for your project.
-
Describe the scenarios in acceptance.html (or any html file if you
want to keep the test suites separated).
-
Make acceptance tests for the scenarios.
-
Update, make sure all tests still pass, and commit (remember to provide
detailed comments!)
Task 2
Update the build.xml file adding and modifying targets as described.
Make sure to create a ticket in Trac. As in Task 0,
only one pair will commit.
-
compile-uat: compile the Java files under the uat
directory. The class files are stored in the suite-uat
directory.
-
uat: run the acceptance tests. Dependencies should be set appropriately.
You'll need to copy the input html file(s) to the appropriate place under the
suite-uat directory so it can be found when you run the Concordion test class.
To change where Concordion puts its output files, use an Ant tag like
<sysproperty key="concordion.output.dir" value="${your directory property name}" />
-
all-test: run all the tests. Dependencies should be set appropriately.
-
all: builds the application and creates the jar file, runs all the
tests, creates the html documentation, and then runs the application.
Dependencies should be set appropriately.
-
clean-uat: removes the suite-uat directory and
its content.
Check List
-
Write and execute acceptance tests using Concordion.
