There will be 1 test, given on the last day of class. It counts for 15% of your course grade. The test is comprehensive and will cover the readings, material presented in class and the assignments.
There will be 3 programming assignments and one warm-up assignment. The assignments require a C++11 compliant version of g++, the GNU C++ compiler. The assignments count for 85% of the course grade.
Usually, the assignments will include more than just programming, and will ask you to do some reflection and analysis.
All programming labs shall be carried out by teams of exactly two. You may choose to engage in pair programming on these programming assignment. See the following handout on pair programming. We encourage you to discuss the labs with your classmates, but teams must work independently. If you aren’t sure about this, see Professor Baden.
Your solution files to the assignment must be turned in before the deadline shown below, via GitLab (not GitHub). Instructions which will be described in the assignment.

The best way to make sure you don’t lose credit for your assignments is to plan to finish them and turn them in well before the deadline. Make sure your submitted files compile and meet the assignment specifications; source code that doesn’t compile won’t receive any credit. Your assignments will be graded using the compilers and runtime environment on Bang or Stampede (as specified in the assignment), so you should test your code there. Make sure you include exactly the files that you are required to submit, and make sure you add any files you have created to your repository!
Your turned-in assignment solution will be graded by the CSE 260 staff. Grading feedback will be emailed to your class account and the score posted for you to view on Moodle. You don’t need to do anything to get your assignment graded, other than turning it in before the deadline. If you have a question about the grade you received, email the grader. You have one week from the time your grade is returned to you to contest your grade; after that it is set in stone.
