I used to work for Prof Brad Calder in the Computer Architecture and Compiler Optimizations group at UCSD. I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science in September 2006, and then went to work for Peakstream Inc in Redwood Shores, CA. Google Inc acquired Peakstream in May 2007, and is my current employer.

• And its cousin TheRegister. These guys scooped the Peakstream buyout story which was till then secret using the infinite power of the web. They were the first to notice that Peakstream's website was down. This prompted a Register reader to uncover a Foundation Capital note that Google had bought out their startup Peakstream, and put that observation in the article's comment section. The Register then posted a second article declaring that discovery, which was then picked up by the WallStreet Journal, and then blasted around the business news wires.
