Ruth Ii-Yung Ng

Why, hello there!

I am Ruth Ng, I'm currently a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) PhD student at the University of California, San Diego. I do research in cryptography and computer security and work with Prof. Mihir Bellare.

Before this, I was a Research Engineer at DSO National Labs. And before that, I was an undergrad at the University of Chicago. I'm currently supported by the DSO Postgraduate Scholarship.

It is a theory of mine (publication pending) that 90% of people who are coming to this page are trying to figure out how to spell my name. If so, please note that, yes, my last name has no vowels (pronounced "erng"), and, yes, my middle name has two "i"s next to each other.

If you are part of the other 10% of people, please click on the links to the left in the least stalker-ish way possible. Thanks.
