In addition to the assigned reading you may wish to look at Brent Yorgey’s lectures on School of Haskell, for example Haskell Basics is a great start. For those interest in the history of Haskell, A history of Haskell: Being lazy with class is a fantastic read, and there is a similarly engaging talk. A history of Haskell: Being lazy with class is a fantastic read. We higly recommend A Gentle Introduction to Haskell 98 and looking at The Haskell 2010 Language. Learn You a Haskell for Great Good! is also a good book to read through.
