Course Policy
The course requires attendance at the Recitation session, which will be conducted by Mr. Petrov. Mr. Baboescu and Ms. Chebrolu are also TAs for CSE 140. The recitation session is scheduled as follows: Wednesdays --- 11:15 -- 12:05 PM, in PETER 104
The recitation will cover solutions to a) homework problems and b) the test problems. The homework problems will be assigned for practice but they will not be graded.
There will be four (4) tests required for this course. The first three (3) tests will be given in class, during this quarter and will occur approximately every 2-3 weeks. The lowest grade on any of these three midterms will be dropped. Each of the remaining two midterms will contribute 30% to the final grade, while the mandatory, cumulative final will contribute an additional 40%. The final will take place during the schedule of the final of this course. There will be no make-up tests given for any reason. To get credit for the exam, attendance during the scheduled time period is required. No make-up tests will be available.
Sometimes you get a grade that you don't like, either because I added up the points wrong or because you think I evaluated you wrongly. If you believe that a regrade is needed, tell me immediately, otherwise the following Statute of Limitations will apply:
| You have one (1) week from the day any particular graded exam is made available to you to appeal the grade you received. After one week, I will assume that you believe the grade that you got is the correct one. After one week, grades are unchangeable, fixed and permanent. |
