THIS IS A PRELIMINARY VERSION. THERE MAY BE CHANGES. READ THE WHOLE FILE AND DO SO CAREFULLY. DO NOT TURN THIS IN WITH THE turnin PROGRAM BEFORE 5 AM Saturday, January 25. If you finish before then, just wait a while before turning it in. Also, check for changes before turning it in. Assignment 4, cse 10 Winter, 97 Deadlines: For turnin program: Thursday Jan 30 For interview: Wednesday Feb 5 Programming Project 13 Chapter 5 of the Savitch text (p278). But, the number marker #N may occur anyplace in the file and the marker #N is always replaced by a number in the way described in the exercise. Also, you will use a slightly different file of answers. You will use the file answers, txt that is in this directory. Remember, your program should work for any file of answers (so long as the constant ANSWERS described in the exercise is adjusted if need be). You must use functions. You decide how many and what they do. But you must use functions so that no function is too large and so that main is not too large. Hints: Do Programming Project 12 first! In fact, first do an even simpler program. First do a program that does not substitute a number for #N but just answers with the whole line, even if the line contains #N. You do not throw the simpler programs away. You add to them. First do the simple one, then change it and add to it to get a solution to Programming Project 12. Then change and add to that one to get a solution to Programming project 13. You only turn in the C++ program that solves Programming Project 13, but you will find it easier and faster to do the other programs as steps along the way. Also, you do NOT turnin the file answers.txt. You only turn in the C++ program that uses that file. There is NO object code file hw04.o for this one.
