Welcome to CSE 87!

This Freshman Seminar course is designed to introduce you to the world of Viral Molecular Epidemiology.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand the actionable Public Health questions that are pertinent to a viral epidemic
  2. Discuss the standard molecular epidemiology approaches commonly used to explore these questions
  3. Provide an overview of the state-of-the-art tools used in viral molecular epidemiology

Workload

CSE 87 is a 1-unit course: expect to spend around 2 hours per week on this course, which will consist of a 50-minute Weekly Lecture (with me) and a Weekly Reflection you will submit at the end of each week to reflect on that week's topic. Note that we will only meet the first 8 weeks of the quarter.

Grading

This class is taken P/NP. We hope that every student will successfully earn a passing grade in this class. To do so, you need to complete all Weekly Reflections.
