CSE20 Winter 2009: Homework Assginments

Homeworks will be collected in class the day they are due. All pages of your homework solutions should be stapled, and should have your name on the front page. If there is some specific problem about which you would like to receive some feedback from the TA, or see it covered in discussion, make a note on the front page at the beginning of your solutions.

Each homework typically consists of a selection of excercises/problems from the textbook. The numbers refer to the third edition of the textbook. If you are using a different edition of the textbook, you are responsible to make sure you work on the right problems, e.g., by consulting a copy of the third edition of the textbook either in the library or from another student.

You can use each homework assignment as a guide about what material has been covered, and which chapters of the book you should read. The latter parts of each homework assignment will typically involve material that has not yet been covered in class at the time the homework is posted on the webpage. The material will be covered in the following lecture, before the homework is due. You should start working on the homework right away, and solve as many excercises as you can, delaying only those that have not been covered to the last days before the assignment is due. Of course, you can also go ahead and read from the textbook before class if you like, so you can solve all problems right away, or bring your homework related questions to class.
