CSE 20 Discrete Mathematics

Grading Policy

There will be two midterms, each worth 30% of your grade, and a comperhensive final exam worth 40% of your grade.

The midterms will be given Monday July 12 and Wednesday, July 21 (in class). The material to be covered on these midterms will be announced in class.

The final exam is scheduled for 2:00-4:50 pm Friday, July 30, in the classroom.

Both midterms and the final exams will be open book, BUT NO OTHER MATERIAL.  You can, of course, make notes in your book but no sheets of paper, etc., will be allowed in the exam.  Calculators may be brought to exams.

Homework

HOMEWORK IS REQUIRED. You will be getting a (+) or (-) for every homework you turn in. Doing more than half of the homework correctly gives you a (+), less then half gives you a  (-). If your overall homework grades are mostly (+), and if your grade is on the borderline between two grades, you get the better grade. Likewise, a (-) can lower your grade. Homework does not have a fixed percentage of the grade assigned to it. Homework (and homework solutions a week later) will be posted on the web.
