Programming Project 3 Grading Criteria
Your program was tested with the file image1024x1024.pgm using 2 workers and
chunks of size 256x256. This assignment cosisted of several parts, each with
a certain number of points assigned to it out of a total 100 points. If
some part was not done correctly a certain number of points were deducted.
Of course, any late submission was also docked points according to the
inverse log curve described in the assignment. Here is the breakdown of
all penalties we applied:
- Old code with timings (10)
- If code runs, but produces invalid output: -2 points
- If code compiles, but crashes or produces no output:
-5 points
- Plots of timing data from the old code (20)
- If plots were incorrect/missing: -1 point per plot
- New code with timings (20)
- If 2 optimizations were implemented and only one
of them produced correct output: -3 points
- If 1 or 2 optimizations were implemented and
(both) produced invalid output: -5 points
- If the program(s) compiled, but crashed or
produced no output: -10
- If incorrect/incomplete algorithm was implemented: -15
- Plots of timing data from new code (20)
- If plots were incorrect/missing: -1 point per plot
- Report (30)
- If some required section was missing: -2 points per
section
If you think have been graded unfairly, please, let us know about it
