Useful SUIFisms

SUIF makefiles: These are actually pretty cool. Check out this Makefile for an example. To add extra C++ files to your project, augment the SRCS line with the extra files. To add extra header files, augment the HEADERS line. The SUIF makefiles handle building dependences for you (into a file called Makefile.deps).
scc: The SUIF front-end. It can take either Fortran77 or C as input. You can specify how far along for SUIF to process the file. The following tells SUIF to take hello.c to the intermediate format used by SUIF (not simplesuif, though!)
% scc -.spd hello.c
if you leave out the -.spd flag, it'll compile hello.c all the way to an executable.
SUIF list data structures: These are pretty cool. SUIF has association lists, double-linked lists and singly-linked lists, called alist, dlist, and glist. If you want to declare a new list whose contents are of type crepes and call the resulting class list_of_crepes, then put this in your code (replace DLIST with ALIST or GLIST if you want)
DECLARE_DLIST_CLASS(list_of_crepes, crepes)
ssfe: The SimpleSUIF front-end. Takes a C or Fortran77 file to simplesuif. To take hello.c into simplesuif, do this
% ssfe hello
This command creates two files: a simplesuif file hello.tmp) and a normal SUIF file hello.spx.
ssbe: The SimpleSUIF back-end. Takes simplesuif back to C. To convert back to C, remember to strip off the dot ending, as above

% ssbe hello
which creates hello.out.c
