CSE 105 - Academic Integrity Policy

Please review UC San Diego's academic integrity policy:

As stated in section I-A, students should
"Complete and submit academic work that is their own and that is an honest and fair representation of their knowledge and abilities at the time of submission."

In this course, you will be asked to complete homeworks, midterms and a final exam. Homeworks are done in groups of 4-5 students, whereas tests are individual.

For homeworks, you may always consult the following sources: Your homework partners, instructors, teaching assistants, office hours, lecture notes, course textbook. Everything else (e.g., other students) is considered an "external source". For exams, no sources are allowed, unless approved by the professor ahead of time.

Throughout the course, you may consult external sources (e.g., web searches) for additional context. However, you are not allowed to explicitly search for anything that may help you with homework questions. Looking for homework help in external sources is considered an academic integrity violation for this course. If, by accident, you view an external source that helps you solve a homework problem, consult an instructor immediately (and do not consult the source further).

If you have any doubts about whether a particular source may be consulted, please ask an instructor before consulting the source. Relatedly, you should start homeworks well ahead of the due date. Lack of time to finish an assignment is NOT a valid justification for consulting external sources without permission.
