Midterm exam will be held sometime in the middle of the
quarter. It will be open book, which means you can bring any
documentation with you (including class notes).
Programming assignments will be assigned approximately every one
or two weeks,
and instructions on turning them in will be posted with each assignment.
You have a total of four late days that you can use throughout the
quarter as you need them, where a late day means anything between 1 second and
23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds past a deadline.
Final examination must be taken at the scheduled time and
location. In order to turn in your completed final examination, you
must present a valid UCSD ID at the time the examination papers are handed
to the instructor or TA. The name and student number on the ID card
must match those on the examination papers. Examination papers not
accompanied by a valid UCSD ID will not be accepted and will not
be graded. The final is also closed book, but you may use a
single "cheat sheet".
In class assignments will occur approximately once a week, and
may either be individual or group work. They will typically be pencil-and-paper
exercises that must be completed without the use of a computer.
