CSE 262 is an advanced elective in high performance computing. We will explore applications and software techniques relevant to computing with accelerators (GPUs) and high end scalable systems with many thousands of cores.
The course grade will be based on in-class presentations and a project. Students will have access to NVIDIA GPUs and high end scalable systems on the Teragrid.
Required Background. You should be familiar with the principles and practice of parallel computation, which may be met by prior course work e.g. CSE 260 or CSE 160, or equivalent work experience. I assume that you have experience programming in either CUDA, OpenCL, MPI or pthreads.
