Program 2 FAQ/Tips

1. The sample solution doesn't seem to be working. Why not?

Remove all comments from your .pgm file. The program cannot process comments.

2. How do I compile my pthreads program?

Use the commmand 'gcc -lpthread filename.c' Here's the test program phello.c.

3. Program 3 turn-in procedures and grading criteria are the same as for program 2 (see program 2 faq for details) except your source should all be in one file (call it edgeDetector.c).

3. If you're testing out program 2 solution, please remember to halt pvm when you're done. Thanks.

4. Hint: using pthread_create and then pthread_join should be enough.
