Lab 4 Gradeing Guideline Neatness + 1 Point Schematic + 2 Points ABEL code of control system + 2 Points FPGA + 1 Point Functional Simulation + 2 Points Part 5 (Discussion) + 1 Point Worst Delay + 1 Point -------------------------------------- Total 10 Points Neatness If we could read everything easily and you did a good job of explaining things, you got all the points. If you did a bad job explaining or we couldn't read something, we took points off. If it was really messy because you didnt bus your outputs in functional simulation, you probably lost a half point. If your print out was unreadable, you may have lost a half point for neatness, and more points for anything we couldnt read that was required. Schematic If it was all there and correct, full points were awarded. If it was not all there do to a printer cutting something off or carelessness, you may have lost points. ABEL If it was all there and correct, full points were awarded. FPGA If you had it, full points, if not, 0 points. Functional Simulation If it was readable and neat, and your functions performed correctly, full points. If you addedd or shifted wrong, up to 1 point was taken off each. A lot of people shifted right because they didnt have any additional combinational logic to accompany the barrel shifter. Some people had flags that behaved incorrectly for our CPU--we wanted unsgined addition so you needed to use the carry out of Xilinx's built in adder, not the built in overflow Discussion We were looking for what was neccesary to guarantee that everything worked. If you only had something like "we tested the previous cases and they worked, so the system works", this was generally not enough and warranted up to a half point deduction. For instance, a good answer for the comparator would be "We would test data that was larger, data that was equal, and data that was smaller" Worst Delay If you had it with your timing schematic, you got full points. If you didnt have a timing diagram, you lost half a point. If you had nothing, you got 0 points. Average - 9.26 :) Standard Deviation - .995
