A couple former students of mine have started companies for which I serve as a technical advisor:

Orpix is a computer vision technology company, for which I'm a technical advisor. Their current flagship solutions are vehicle recognition and logo recognition.
Anchovi Labs offers an image annotation and analysis services for scientific and industrial applications. Update: Anchovi was acquired by Dropbox in Sept. 2012.
