Bring 3D Visual Magic to Everyone with Deep Learning

I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science, University of California San Diego. I received my B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2016 at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC).

I am mostly interested in applied deep learning for 3D computer vision, computer graphics, smart lighting system and camera perception. At UCSD, I work in 3D Shape Understanding Lab and Mobile Computing Lab. I am in Center for Visual Computing (a big group).

My current research topics are 3D shape and geometry, denoising networks for real-time rendering, virtual and augmented reality. I am in the Shapenet team.

I am working closely with Disney Research (Los Angeles) (where I design magical systems for Disneyland theme parks), Adobe Research (where I work on cartoons), Scripps Institution of Oceanography (for studying organisms) and NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (for specific missions).

I will intern at Walt Disney Imagineering in Summer 2019. I was a Machine Learning Intern at Apple Display Team in Summer 2018.

I was awarded Google PhD Fellow in 2018.

I have a dream that one day 3D visual tools will allow us see the imagination in our minds, discover our inner beauty, and know how we stand in the universe.
