About Me

Hi, my name is Sat and I'm a Ph.D. student in the CSE department at UC San Diego where I am a part of the Architecture group. My advisor is Michael Taylor. I was previously advised by Alex Orailoglu. I currently serve as one of the coordinators of the CSE Graduate Student Association and am active with the Jacobs Graduate Student Council.

I received my M.S. in Computer Science in 2007 (from UCSD). Before that, I graduated from Drexel University in 2005 with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. While there, I worked with Drs. Moshe Kam and Kapil Dandekar. Going even further back, I spent my whole life in a small town in Ohio named Willard. To learn more about my personal interests, check out my personal webpage: elsaturnino.com.

My current research involves design of and programming for multi-core computer architectures. Previously I worked in the area of nanoelectronic architectures and DNA Self-Assmbly. I'm also interested in computer science/engineering education.
