CSE 81 -- W'97

Project Proposal -- Due: Wed. Feb. 12, 1997, 1:00pm

NEW: There is one requirement for the project: it should include the use of forms and CGI scripts

The purpose of the proposal is to help you shape your project early on. You should not feel constrained by the proposal, but, of course, your final project should not deviate completely from your proposal. The proposal doesn't need to have any particular format, but it should be on the web, accessible through your account as proposal.html.

To help you complete an effective proposal, you might want to consider the following:

  • make sure you have the names of all students in the group on the (first) page
  • provide a descriptive title
  • explain your motivation for undertaking this (particular) project
  • provide a tentative outline of the project, including ideas for media/material to be used
  • discuss specific techniques you may use, such as tables, forms, CGI scripts, etc.
  • make the proposal accessible through all the individual accounts of the group members
  • Note: there should be 3 students in each group; if you want to deviate from this policy and have good reason, send email to the TA (cs81w1) requesting permission for some other arrangement, include all names of students involved and the rationale for the request. Also, if you have not formed a group of 3 and are looking for partners, check the TA's home page.
