Karma: Action; the law "As you sow, so shall you reap."
Kartikeya: One of Shiva's sons, also known as Skanda, Kumara, or Subrahmanya.
Krishna: Eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, hero of the Mahabharata.
Kriya: Lit. action. The process of action on the level of energies. For example, Kriya Yoga.
Kundalini: Creative life energy latent in the nervous system, activated through practices like Hatha yoga and Kriya Yoga.
Lakshmi: Goddess of fortune, consort of Vishnu.
Linga: Phallic emblem of Shiva.
Mahal: House or palace.
Mahayana: "Great Vehicle," the later, theistic form of Buddhism.
Maheshvara: "The Great Lord"; a general name for Shiva. Maha meaning Great, as in Mahashivratri, the Great Night of Shiva.
Mala: Rosary, usually referring to the beads of the rudraksha.
Mandapa: Hall of a temple, usually pillared.
Mantra: Sound used for meditation.
Maqbaro: Underground chamber containing the real grave (qabr); an Islamic mausoleum.
Maya: "Magical play"; the illusory and impermanent nature of the world.
Mudra: Symbolic hand gesture, especially in Indian iconography.
Muladhara chakra: Lowest chakra, situated at the penneum.
Murti: General term for image.
