A separate license may be purchased in order to run Lotus 1-2-3 from an ASCII terminal, contact csehelp for more info.
Change your PATH variable (usually set in the .cshrc file) to reflect the new location for Lotus 1-2-3 binaries:
/usr/local/lotus/123.v12/sun4sol1/bin
Before running Lotus 1-2-3 for the first time, it is necessary to run setup123 in order to select the 1-2-3 interface:

Select your screen display card/driver:
None Classic 1-2-3 runs inside the xterm. Graphics can not be displayed. X Window (Classic mode) 1-2-3 runs in a window in Classic Mode. Graphics can be displayed, but mouse movement is not supported. OPEN LOOK Interface 1-2-3 runs in a window with OPEN LOOK. Graphics, mouse movement are supported. OSF/Motif Interface 1-2-3 runs in a window with Motif. Graphics, mouse movement are supported. Select display character set: CTRL-C End Setup ProgramDo you want to save your changes? Yes Do you want to end setup123? Yes
To invoke Lotus 1-2-3 if the display option is None:
% 123
If either the X Window or Motif display options are selected, 1-2-3 can be invoked as a background job:
% 123 &
If the OPEN LOOK interface is selected:
% setenv LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/openwin/lib % setenv WINDOW_MGR olwm % 123 &Lotus is installed on odin, the CSE administrative computing system, but may be used from any CSE Sun 4 system running SunOS 4.1.X. At this time, only one license is available for general use. The lmstat -a command can be used to check the status of the nonreserved Lotus 1-2-3 license:
% /usr/local/lotus/123.v12/sun4sol1/bin/lmstat -a lmstat -Copyright (C) 1989, 1992 Highland Software,Inc.
