music life

I began to play cello when I was nine. Since then, it has been playing an important role in my spare time. I am currently a member of La Jolla Symphony & Chorus . La Jolla Symphony is a very decent orchestra. A small portion of its players are professional. There are two concerts each quarter. Ph.D. life is a kind of busy. I hope I can keep attending at least one each quarter.

More previously, I was a member of Tsinghua University Symphony Orchestra (TUSO) between 2000 and 2006. I have a lot of precious memories there.

sample recording

When I was in TUSO, I occasionally played some chamber music with friends: string quartet, piano trio, piano quartet, etc. Below is a living recording from a chamber music concert in Nov. 23rd, 2003 -- Mahler: piano quartet in a minor. This work was still quite new in China at that time. We guess it was the China premiere =).
