Kunal Korgaonkar

I completed my PhD from the Computer Science and Engineering Department at University of California, San Diego (US) in May of 2019. I'm now a Postdoctoral Fellow at Technion (Israel).

My core interest is in computer architecture, operating systems, programming languages and systems (in general). My research work spans a range of hardware and software topics from exploiting the capabilities of low-level electronic devices especially new memory or storage devices, to rethinking the legacy-bound system and programming interfaces of today's machines, all the way to applying compiler and algorithmic meta-optimizations in wake of vertically reimagined systems.

I was guided by Prof. Steven Swanson during my PhD at UC San Diego (US). My thesis focussed on building scalable and cost-effective architectures using emerging memory and storage technologies. Earlier, I completed my MS from IIT Madras (India) with guidance from Prof. V. Kamakoti. In the past, I also held positions in industry research labs focussing on chip design and architecture.

Feel free to browse through my CV (pdf) for further details on recent work!
