Computer Science & Engineering
University of California, San Diego

I am currenlty an Associate Researcher with the Telefonica Research lab in Barcelona, Spain. My research interests lie in the areas of large scale data management, cloud computing and distributed systems.

Before that I was a PhD student in the Computer Science and Engineering department at the University of California, San Diego. I was working in the Systems and Networking group under the supervision of Kenneth Yocum. I received my Diploma from the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens in July 2004.

At UCSD, I worked on In-situ MapReduce, a scalable architecture for the collection and analysis of logs in large data centers, and CBP, a programming model and runtime system for the efficient processing of continuous bulk data. In the past I've worked on Mortar, a distributed stream processor that focuses on scalability, accuracy and fault tolerance in wide-area environments.
