Chris is currently a software enginner for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, located on Point Loma in San Diego, CA. He received two Bachelors of Science, one in Computer Science and one in Mathematics, from Purdue University in 2005. He has spent the four years following his B.S. working in the Unmanned Systems Branch of SPAWAR Systems Center, working on control software for unmanned systems and force protection sensors.

Chris' research area is artificial intelligence with some overlap with embedded systems. He has expertise in control software and has written multiple papers for SPIE and AUVSI conferences. However, his current research interests are in the software residing on the unmanned systems. One area of interest for onboard software is vision for navigation and decision making. Another interest is local position using Kalman filters to combine sensor data.

Chris was born in Miami, FL and moved shortly after to Cincinnati, OH where he lived through high school. Chris attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN for his undergraduate studies. Following college, he moved west to San Diego, CA to pursue a research career for the Navy. He is now earning a graduate degree from University of California San Diego while working.
