Scott B. Baden is Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego, where he has been a member of the faculty since 1990. He received the Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. Dr. Baden's research is in high performance and parallel computation. His research focuses on programming abstractions, domain-specific translation, performance programming, adaptive and data centric applications and algorithm design. Dr. Baden is a member of IEEE (Senior member) and SIAM, and a Senior Fellow at the San Diego Supercomputer Center. He is a founding member of UCSD’s Computational Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Program (CSME) and the Bioinformatics program. Dr Baden is active in International Education and an avid photographer. During the 1988-89 academic year he traveled the globe.
