CSE 208: Course outline and calendar

Below I give a rough indication of topics to be covered. As student presentation dates become known, they will be indicated here.

• Introduction: Pairing basics, the different computational problems and their relations
• Signatures: BLS signatures, multisigantures, aggregate signatures, schemes of Boneh-Boyen-04 and Waters that underly the corresponding IBE schemes
• Identity-based encryption: Boneh-Franklin, Waters, Hierarchical IBE
• Applications: forward-secure encryption, PEKS, IND-CCA encryption, broadcast encryption
