This is a brief summary of some of my research in cryptography.
A research theme I have been developing and concentrating on lately, in joint work with Phillip Rogaway, is to bridge the gap between theory and practice by the development of a "practice oriented provable security." Amongst the highlights of this approach are bringing provable security to bear on problems like entity authentication and session key distribution; developing the model of finite pseudo-random functions as an approach to proving secure constructions based on block ciphers like DES; and attention to exact security analyses. I have written a small survey on this subject.
