Research interests

My area of interest is compilers for high-performance and parallel computers. I am currently working on the hierarchical tiling project, where I am addressing the issue of determining tile sizes and shapes to achieve minimal program execution time. My advisors are Jeanne Ferrante and Larry Carter.

Education

[1994] Lund Institute of Technology, Sweden, M.S., Electrical Engineering
[1997] University of California, San Diego, M.S., Computer Science
[1994-Present] University of California, San Diego, Ph.D.-student, Computer Science

Employment

[Summer'98] Summer Intern, IBM, T.J. Watson Research Center
The project I worked on addressed the problem of partitioning
objects in a program running in a distributed setting, with
the goal of minimizing the total execution time. During the
course of the summer I developed simple, efficient partitioning
algorithms, that are being submitted for a patent. To better
understand the behaviour of these algorithms and visualize the
partitioning of the objects, I also implemented a graphical
display tool in java.
[Winter'96] Teaching Assistant, University of California, San Diego
[Fall'95-Present] Research Assistant, University of California, San Diego
[Summer'91] Instructor, Landskrona Kommun, Sweden
[Spring'91] Teaching Assistant, Lund Institute of Technology, Sweden
[Summer'88, '89, '90] Medical technician, Halmstad Lasarett, Sweden
[Summer'87] Electrical technician, Lequeue, Dourdan, France
