I am a professor in the computer science and engineering
department at the University of California, San Diego.

My research interests are in high performance and scientific computation, including run time support, domain specific translation,
irregular problems, and data centric algorithms.
My research group is the
Scientific Computation Group.
I am a founding member of UCSD’s
Computational Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Program (CSME).
I am a proponent of international education, cooperation and collaboration.

In the winter quarter of 2012, I am teaching
CSE 91,
a Freshman course on Perspectives in Computer Science,
graduate course on machine learning,
CSE 260,
a graudate course in Parallel Computation, and
organizing the UCSD
Large scale systems seminar.
In the spring quarter I will be on sabbatical in the
Department of Numerical Analysis at The Royal Institute
of Technology (
KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.
