Issues concerning Student Affairs in EBU3b
Student Affairs Area concerns
- separate offices with locking doors and windows to the outside -- need
for confidential advising
- one larger work area for 4 student workers
- waiting and reception area to comfortably hold 25 students waiting for advising
with student resources/information available to students while they wait,
with stations connected to campus network for students to access; reception
area with compute station for initial triage
- conference room to comfortably hold 10-15 people
- add/drop (final exam return?) window that can allow 30+ students to queue up without blocking
regular building traffic flow -- possibly to the outside of the building so the queue is
outside around the building
- file room centrally located in Student Affairs area accessible to
all SA staff without interrupting other SA staff --
Grad Admissions records, Ugrad records must be kept for 6 yrs,
MS records 7 yrs., PhD records 12 years
- copy, fax, shreader, storage room
- all space in one contiguous general area on ground/low floor
- close to an end of a wing to help control the large volume of traffic flow
- handle continued historical growth of 13% in Undergrad and 11% growth
in Grad programs
