CSE graduate enrichment seminar ------------------------------------ "Tips for Effective Public Speaking" by Martha Stacklin (UCSD) ------------------------------------ brought to you in part by Graduate Student Association at UCSD AP&M room 4301 Friday 2/9/01 at 1pm Discover how you can increase your confidence and effectiveness when you make a presentation. This one-hour seminar will provide you with basic tips and ideas for the planning and effective delivery of your talks to help you in overcoming your nervousness in public speaking. You will have an opportunity to briefly practice your skills with the use of audiovisual equipment, so you are welcome to bring transparencies/disks from your work-in-progress or from previous presentations. A volunteer can be videotaped and then critiqued following the playback of the tape. Martha Stacklin is an Instructional Development Specialist and Coordinator of the ITA Language Program at the Center for Teaching Development. She has been teaching public speaking courses and workshops at UCSD and for San Diego area corporations for over 10 years.
