MATLAB is a powerful tool for data analysis and visualization,
programming, and computation.  Learning MATLAB is well worth the
investment -- it can speed up your research, classwork, and publication.
In this talk I'll discuss:

    * Talking to MATLAB
          [The GUI and the command line interface]

    * Getting information into MATLAB and using it
          [Variables, matrices & computation]

    * Figuring out your results and showing them to others
          [Data analysis and visualization]

    * Getting your graphs and tables into a publication
          [Exporting]

    * But my needs are very specialized / application-specific ...
          [MATLAB toolboxes ... but I'll only lightly touch on them]
