  • The due day for the 4th homework is changed to Thursday June 4.
  • The final exam will be a take-home exam. The problem set will be handed out after the last lecture June 5. The problem set is due noon June 9 at APM7101. Late paper will not be accepted. Early submissions can be placed under the door of APM7101.
  • Homework 4 is out, due Tuesday June 3.
  • The homework problem on preflow push is optional. The section 7.4 on preflow push is for reading only and will not be covered in class.
  • Olivia will move her office hour from Thursday, May 22 to Wednesday, May 21 from 10-11 in the basement of CSE.
  • Olivia will move her office hour from Tuesday, May 20 to tomorrow, Friday, May 16 from 11-12 in the basement of CSE.
  • Homework 3 is out, due Thursday May 22.

  • Several people have asked for the review notes to be published. Please forgive the sloppiness, (these were intended to be notes for myself!) but here they are: Midterm review notes
  • Olivia will move her Thursday office hour this week to Wednesday, May 7 from 11-12pm.
  • Olivia will be leading a review session for the midterm during lecture on Tuesday May 6. Please alert her via email or Piazza if there are specific topics or questions you would like to be covered!
  • Homework 2 will be handed back in class Tuesday May 6.
  • Sample problems and solutions are posted on the class website.
  • Fan's office hour May 7 will be cancelled due to travel.
  • Homework 2 is out, due Tuesday April 29.
  • Homework 1 will be handed back in class Tuesday April 22.
  • Grades for the course will be managed on GradeSource. If you have not received a secret ID in your email, please send Olivia an email indicating this.
  • Olivia is adding an office hour on Thursdays from 11-12pm in the basement of CSE, and she will hold extended office hours tomorrow, Tuesday April 15 from 10am-12pm.
  • Our course page on Piazza is up. You can post questions here for instructors and peers for collaborative instruction.
  • Fan's office hour for 2-3pm 4/16 will be held at CSE2126 (instead of APM7101).
  • The lecture on union-find algorithms is based on Chapter 5 of the book Algorithms by Dasgupta, Papadimitriou and Vazirani.
  • Homework 1 is out, due Tuesday April 15
  • Olivia will be traveling during the week of April 7-11, so she will hold office hours Friday April 4 this week from 10-11 in the basement in place of Tuesday April 8.
  • 04/01 Please check out the homework set 0 . If you can do most of these problems, then you are prepared for taking this course. If not, you are advised to drop the class.
