This is a 4-unit course. The assessment in this course will be based on attendance (15%) and a 50-min student presentation in lecture (85%).
All presentations are individual presentations. Your presentation should be based on a recent paper on learning theory. For ideas on papers, see here . You are welcome to present a paper that is not on the list; however this is subject to instructor approval.
There are three major milestones related to your presentation:
Missing each milestone is worth a grade.
- Oct 2: Sign up for a presentation slot. The currently available slots are here . Please send me two possible options for when you would like to speak in case your first choice is not available. The slot assignments are first come, first served!
- Oct 9: Send me the title of the paper that you would like to present.
- 14 days before your presentation: Send me your draft slides and schedule a meeting with me to discuss them.
